Todays shots are just fun, I saw this happy smile in the toy shop the other day and thought it would be a fun object to try shutter speeds with, and to raise a smile or two.
I had a tripod, my 100mm lens, with lit by window light and playing around with manual settings. I was really hard as the wind up mouth did not want to stay in my field of view… but it was fun to experiment with a cheesy photographers smile!
At 1/100s that was some movement on the jaw. The shot is not particularly sharp as I had manually focused before hand the teeth were moving!
At 1/250 sec, less movement and the eyes are sharp… I think it is a happy smile for the camera – do you?
Finally a wider shot, the shallow depth of field is apparent on the backgound… so you can see how quickly the are in focus disappears.
