Day 158 – Snails Pace

A close up look today at a small garden snail with my 100mm lens. The snail was in the shade on a grey slate background, so to increase the light in my shot I choose 800 ISO, and snails are surprisingly quick when you aim to capture them in motion.

In capturing these images I thought about:

  • Having space for the snail to move into
  • Focusing on its antenna
  • The details in the patterns

The final image above I decide to edit in Lightroom into a Monochrome image as often patterns works well in monochrome so I wanted to try it in this image. What do you think? Does it work?
