Day 160 – Fields of Green

A while a go I explored a yellow field – using that as inspiration today I photographed a field with a grain crop, and captured a field of green in the early morning sun.

First of all I moved in close to capture the detail on the grain and to fill the image with colour.

I then choose to go wide, so that the viewer got a sense of the space that was in the field.

Moving the horizon in the picture creates a whole different impace on the end image … something that I am still discovering.

Looking across the field, the farmers tractor tracks make some great leading lines which lead to the tree line beyond.

Focusing on the grain with a shallow dept of field, you can place the field around the surrounding buildings giving the impression of farm land.

The choice then is to look at the crop as a whole…

Or to be selective when focusing to highlight the details

Or trying something totally different … I put my camera on the ground, used the swivel LCD screen to help me focus and took this shot below… a totally different view of the field … and I think it is great.

Who knew one field offered so much variety and interest?
