Off to the Old Bakery last night and the theme was dancing – we had two dancers turn up, but I focused on only one of them – Lauren. I picked her up before the shoot, and discovered she had never had her photo taken as a dancer / model and she was a little nervous… I told her that the group of photographers were equally nervous… and they she was in charge…
Learning to talk to the the model has really helped, I chipped at showed Lauren the photos I liked to keep her inspired, she suggested ideas, I suggested how more definition would improve the shot, and I got creative using ND filters in the shot, and shot with photoshop in mind. I wanted Lauren to end up with some explosive shots that showed off the movement and power of dance.
I was had set up a speedlite, but adding up spending more of my time in the strobe light set up, which was frustrating when I wanted rear speed sync and couldn’t use it … but I am delighted with the variety of images and really hope that Lauren likes them too.
